until we get the millions of hours of footage edited, and ten thousands of photos back from the 10 thousands of photographers... this photo is the best illustration of how i felt from start to finish at the airhorns and lasers party for WPPI in las vegas last night. there was over 1000 people dancing, sweating, & laughing their faces off! we had a new record of smilebooth images (over 3K)! shanghai surprise rapped (and killed!)... there were lasers & airhorns a plenty (shocker)... people were dancing from the windows to the walls, on both sides of, in front of, & behind me. insane. chanting, screaming sing alongs... ok, well i could go on but people were officially off their rockers. lara told me this morning that she couldn't sleep last night because her feet hurt so bad from dancing. H Y P E ! thank you so much to everyone who came, it was the best time i have had in the last hundred years. for those of you who missed it. we will be back!

dana & hunter started as some of my favorite wedding buddies who have more recently just become buddies. i played their amazing wedding, laughed my ass off at their rad video, and played records at their most recent kick ass cake bash! each time we hang i like them more, and they continue to be a powerful reminder that forging your own path is the only way forward in this cooky world. this playlist is no different, they have chosen some classics and some things you have never heard but every track is uniquely them! enjoy. (up next month a desert fete!)

last week and the week before i played records for ten thousands of hours for the crew working on a commercial photo shoot in culver city. the photographer was the mega talented thayer gowdy and the crew were hilarious, fun, people who would break into dance, send me weird notes and text messages, collectively sign along to random tracks, and head bang when i broke out the metal! i had a great time, looking forward to the next one! great to play some records that have been collecting dust in my studio and not worry about requests for a change...

i was never much of a janis joplin fan before i saw this video a few years ago which really opened my eyes to what a mega talent she was. i heard this song on the radio the other day and re-watched this episode... the performance from the amazing classic variety talk show old grey whistle test (highly recommended) is so powerful, & the interview (not on youtube) is great as well! if you don't get goose bumps in the last 30 seconds, seek professional help immediately... there is a serious imbalance in your system! WATCH THE WHOLE THING... (you are not THAT busy!) you will be very glad you did. (if not, refer to my medical advice above)
