i'm throwing one. at the ace hotel in palm springs. communal dinner, halloween movies, smilebooth, costumes, late night swimming! halloween is my favorite night to play records so i am beyond excited. we have a lot of surprises for this one but i thought i would throw it out there... put a big red X on the calendar!

i have listened to a lot of music over the last few days trying to judge the contest for the free room giveaway at the ace this sunday... i was introduced to a lot of new music, and while there were a few mixes that really stood out, we were forced to choose only 2. thanks so much to everyone who made a playlist and participated in the contest!

(if you don't know about these lists it is something i have been doing most of my life for my friends, and i've been putting them up on the blog for awhile now... this is just music that i have been obsessively listening to over the past month) i usually try not to think about it too much and just throw it together but this one has been a real labor of love. there are some of my all time favorite songs ever on here, and some brand new discoveries that are haunting me in such a big way!
