From Brian (aka SHARKPIG): I've just had the privilege of working with the Jordanian board of tourism, on an ultra fast paced video portrait of the country. The pace being that of the trip itself, and also what I intend to make as a product. Due to an already pretty full schedule in Europe, I only had 47 hours to spare. I arrived in Amman at around 4:30 AM and started shooting at 8am. We basically didn't stop moving for two days, except this moment here where I had to remain as still as possible for this self portrait in Wadi Rum. I was out in the desert alone trying to capture some grandiose moon lit night landscapes for a time lapse, but they weren't really working that well. There were wild dogs growling and barking at me, but it was too dark to see where they were coming from. I decided to scrap it around midnight and try for a singe image. It took a few variations, but this was a 30 second exposure, lit by the Bedouin camps just beyond the horizon, the moon, and my phone.
Because I'm literally one of the world's incompetent photographers, I had to send the image to Flashdance member, Max Wanger for his expert processing. Standing there in the night, I realized that Shark Pig had opened up doors for me that I never expected. For this, I am overwhelmingly grateful to my clients and my colleagues. Just to let you know, I'm planning on running with it! |
